We believe that female entrepreneurship is a driver of change in Haiti, an essential force in countering climate change.
Biothermica, Quebec leader in clean energy and waste management, supports Bioenergy Haiti, a non-profit technology company that it set up in 2012, to provide a concrete solution to waste management in Gonaïves (Haiti) and plastic pollution of the sea.
It is with the contribution of Haitian women entrepreneurs and local businesses that Bioenergy Haiti is putting in place the infrastructure necessary to: collect and recover waste from the municipality of Gonaïves; generate revenue over time with the production and sale of more than 10 MW of local clean energy (biogas and solar); finance, with revenues, the cleaning operations of the city of Gonaïves; create 600 jobs and business opportunities for women.
